About me

Hi! Hei! Hej! G'day! 您好!

I'm Limo and this blog represents my journey to Sweden and my experiences on planet Earth.  I'm a bit of an adventurer, renaissance man, entrepreneur, traveler and citizen of the world.  At one point in time I had residence in three continents.  I'm interested in different cultures, history, am a huge fan of lifelong learning and I believe in leading a life following your dreams.  I speak a few languages, but mostly English in my day to day communication.

As of 2024, I have achieved financial independence!

As a child I grew up in Southeast Asia, roaming and playing on the streets but also being the typical diligent Asian student.

Singapore is where I grew up, with periods of time spent in Malaysia due to my paternal side.  In my late teens whilst studying in Singapore Polytechnic I started my own company and sold software to companies like Amazon.com, P&G, Rockstar Games, etc.  In my final semester I was on exchange at the University of Queensland in Australia.  After that I had a stint in the military due to national service, and during the same time frame I completed another diploma at Temasek Polytechnic to keep my neurons working.  Once I was done I moved to another continent.

Australia is where I moved to after leaving Singapore.  I studied at the University of Queensland after being awarded a fully paid for scholarship from the same university.  Living in the sunny city of Brisbane, I would also tutor several university subjects and was also part of a student volunteer organisation in addition to running my company.  After I was done with my studies, I worked several years in Australia with a famous aeroplane manufacturing company that starts with a B who was also a customer of mine.  I had a pretty good time in Oz and was quite settled there until one fateful day when opportunity came knocking and I answered.

My next stop would be Norway where lived in the capital city, Oslo and worked for a company called Tandberg which was ranked the best company to work for in the country.  And truly it was, with cooked dinners, generous car allowances, an annual ski trip, gym, massages at work, great work colleagues, etc.  But more importantly than work, living in Norway I had the chance to see some of the most stunning scenery in the world and to live a culture way completely different to what I am normally accustomed to.  I had a great time traveling to a lot of different places and I learnt a ton personally and professionally, i.e. invaluable life experience, which will never be possible if I had always lived in a single country surrounded only by like minded people.

In late 2015, serendipity came knocking again in the form of a company in Sweden.  And now here I am.

My life has been a pretty good adventure so far.  This is pretty much my attitude in life.  Just keep on smiling.

I'll end with a quote by a certain Mr Twain.
