Happy New Year!

Wow it's already 2017, and February as a matter of fact.  Time sure flies.  Last year was mainly a year in transition for me.  Moving to Sweden, joining the startup fiasco of a company, and then resigning at the end of the year and starting at a new company tomorrow.  Well let's hope it won't ever be like the Titanic ever again, I surely doubt anything could beat that disaster of a company.  It's more like a fake company (Wish Trump would tweet that!).  Truly never again.  But hey, lesson learned.

I was in Singapore from the 24th January to the 15th of February.  Mainly celebrating Chinese New Year, visiting some friends and being a tour guide to another friend from Germany.  From the 17th I was in Germany until the 19th.  On the 18th they had a carnival in Bonn!  I was here in December as well over Xmas.

Bonn, Cologne, Germany, Luxembourg

From the 21st of December until the 3rd of January I was away on holidays, first in Bonn, then to Cologne, back to Bonn, and then to Luxembourg, then Bonn and then back to Stockholm.  I stayed at a friend's place.  Unfortunately I caught a cold on my first day of vacation and so I spent Christmas day sick as well.  We did have a Christmas German dinner prepared by my friend's mother which was nice.  Too bad I was so sick I couldn't fully appreciate the food.

A Merry German Xmas.

Why to not work in a startup in Sweden (part 4)

This is part 4 of 4 on the positives and negatives on working in a startup in Sweden.  You might wish to read about part 1 first.

As mentioned previously the timeline leading to today have caused me to leave the Titanic.  Here I describe the actual exit interview "process" that I had.  It wasn't really much of a process.

Late last year I resigned from the Titanic.  At first I informed the CEO ("Weeny"), my first sentence to him was something like "This is going to be hard to say." and his immediate response was "You're resigning.".  He wasn't surprised in any manner, which made me seriously wonder how many other unannounced resignations will be taking place.  He also said that the entire team will have to be rebuilt which makes me wonder if "Pushkin" (also known as the pet Russian of the Macedonian dubbed "Mocka") in the company is also thinking about leaving.  I informed him that I wanted my last day to be in mid-February and he said it was fine and he would talk to the owner.

Secretly that's what everyone is thinking.
